RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested four suspects involved in online fraud in the name of overseas employment.

According to the details, FIA Cyber Crime Circle Rawalpindi arrested four suspects of the gang involved in online fraud in the name of employment abroad.

FIA said that the accused used to post advertisements on social media in the name of jobs abroad and also send messages on WhatsApp to lure citizens into their trap.

The spokesman said that the accused extorted 2.5 million from 32 victims in the name of employment abroad.

According to FIA, the accused collected 78,800 per person in the name of fingerprint, medical, and processing fees from the victims. The accused took fingerprints and medical of the victims in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.

FBR amends customs rules for Pak-Afghan transit operation

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a notification to amend the Customs Rules, 2001 under which the rules have become more stringent for those going to Afghanistan via Pakistan.

According to the FBR announcement, the condition of financial security has been imposed on the goods going to Afghanistan and the financial security will be given in the form of an authorized bank guarantee, while the financial guarantee will be for at least one year and can be cashed in Pakistan. The Bank guarantee will also cover taxes and duties levied on vehicles and goods.

The notification said that the new conditions would apply to importers, customs agents, brokers, and transport operators. The purpose of the amended rules is to provide financial security to the Pak-Afghan transit operation.

The FBR notification said that customs clearance of goods to Afghanistan will be done through a computerized system and at least 25 percent of transit goods will be scanned after goods declaration.

Murtaza Wahab will contest from UC 13 of Saddar Town, UC 3 of Mauripur Town, and UC 7 of Ibrahim Hyderi. Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad will submit his nomination paper from UC 7 Gadap Town.

As per the new rules, the mayor, deputy mayor, and other members of local government should have to contest the election within six months.

A total of 886 vacant seats of general member, chairman, and vice chairman will be filled across the province after the by-polls.

While talking to the media on the occasion of submitting nomination papers, Murtaza Wahab said that operations are going on against hydrants and the wallman mafia: He explained that “I am not a man with political grudges, Hafiz Naeem is my elder, I respect him”. He also offered Naeem ur Rehman to work together for the welfare of the city. He said all chairmen are respectable to him.

Murtaza Wahab said that the People’s Party wants the elections to be fair and fair. He said that Hafiz Naeem gets angry when he meets the town chairmen and added that time will prove who is what and in what capacity.
