England’s all-rounder Ben Stokes, who had missed this World Cup because of an injury, made headlines after he predicted the finalists of the ongoing tournament.

As Pakistan remained unbeaten in the third super match against Afghanistan last night, Ben Stokes took to Twitter and wondered whether Pakistan and England will be the finalists of this competition. “England vs Pakistan Final ???,” he tweeted.

Moreover, the star player also hailed the man of the match Asif Ali, who hit four sixes off Afghanistan medium-pacer Karim Janat to attain the victory for Pakistan. “Remember the name Asif Ali,” tweeted Stokes.

“I have confidence in my hitting and that paid off,” said Asif after the match. “I hit sixes towards the longer side of the boundary.”

“My job is to hit sixes, so I practise in scenarios based on situations, needing to hit sixes in the last five overs type situations,” he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that both Pakistan and England have already triumphed the T20 World Cup once.

Pakistan rose as the champions in the 2009 edition of the tournament and England won the T20 World Cup title in 2010.

Eoin Morgan and his team will next be seen in action against Australia on 30th October at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. While, Pakistan and Namibia will lock horns on 2nd November 2021.
