Social Media Should Be Completely Banned, Says Zara Noor Abbas

Zara Noor Abbas shares a way to donate old sweaters to homeless

Pakistani actress Zara Noor Abbas during an interview expressed her wish that social media should be completely banned in Pakistan, as the amount of negativity going around in the virtual world is too much to handle.

The Zebaish actress said,

“Twitterites can do so much better rather than spreading negativity. They should use social media for a good cause.”

After the video clip of the interview went viral on social media platforms, many netizens questioned the actress when she would be deactivating her account.

Many Pakistani celebrities face criticism on different social media platforms. Having public accounts, trollers take no time to target the famed personalities on their social media handles.

This is not the first time when any celebrity has spoken about the negativity spread on social media. Earlier, veteran actress Noor Bukhari gave a shut-up call to all the haters and gave the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to all the users who love to spread hate.

She captioned the post as,

“Dil bhar ke apni nafrat ghussa gaalian nikaal lein. Har post ap sabki frustration nikalti hai yeh post specially un sab ke liye hein jo har celebrity ki har post pe apna apna ghusa nikaalty hein enjoy,” wrote Noor.

More than 52,000 healthcare workers receive COVID-19 vaccine, Dr Faisal Sultan

SAPM Dr Faisal Briefs Regarding Vaccine Shortage In Country

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan has on Thursday said that more than 52,000 frontline healthcare workers have received the coronavirus vaccine in Pakistan.

While addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Dr Faisal Sultan said the government considers the healthcare workers as “ideals” — and it proves the vaccine’s efficacy and their trust in it.

He further said that if a healthcare worker is less than 60-year-old, then they will now only have to send their CNIC number at 1666 and visit their nearest vaccination centre.

The list is available on the National Command and Control Centre’s website.

For the second vaccination phase, he said that the government had announced on February 15 that people above 65-years of age should start registering themselves for the vaccine.

The procedure is the same, send their CNIC number — without dashes — at 1666. “You will get further information from the message you receive.” The second phase, he said, would start from March.

The special assistant said that the government had chosen the people over 65 years as the deaths that had occurred due to COVID-19 in Pakistan, a chunk of those were of the people above 65 years of age.

He urged people above 65 years to get themselves registered for the vaccine as they were “an important part of the society”.

“It does not mean that this vaccine is not safe or is not effective,” he said.

He further added that the people who partook in the vaccine’s trials were not substantial, therefore, Pakistani medical experts advised that it should be used when enough data for people above 60 is available.
