Lockdown expected in Saudi Arabia Amid Increasing COVID-19 cases

A lockdown is expected to be imposed in Saudi Arabia due to rising cases of COVID-19 in the kingdom.

The Saudi Interior Ministry spokesman said,

“Rising cases of coronavirus in Saudi Arabia are alarming. It could lead to lockdowns in some cities and villages.”

He further added,

“If the epidemic rate and critical cases continue to rise, strict action will be taken.”

Moreover, the spokesman for Saudi Interior Ministry also advised people to follow the Sops “If SOPs are not followed, some activities may be banned in the Kingdom.”

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s health ministry had announced that pilgrims who want to perform Hajj this year must receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the details, Saudi Health Minister Tawfiq Al Rabiah had said that participation in the Hajj season will ensure that pilgrims must be vaccinated, as part of the main condition for the pilgrimage. 

“The COVID-19 vaccine is mandatory for those willing to come to the Hajj and will be one of the main conditions (for receiving a permit to come),” a circular signed by the health minister read.

Private Pakistani Airline Reduces Domestic Flight Fares

Private Pakistani airline “Airblue” has reduced domestic flights’ fares for passengers.

According to the details, Airblue has slashed fares between Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad flights.

Fares for flights to Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi have been reduced to Rs 4,990. It should be mentioned here that these fare rates are only for the holy month of Ramadan.

Earlier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had stopped the captain and first officer from fasting during Ramadan.

According to the details, the national flag carrier PIA had stopped the cabin crew, including the pilot, from fasting during Ramadan, and has issued a safety alert for the cabin crew, according to which the captain and first officer should not fast.

Chief of Flight Operations Capt. Arshad Khan had issued a notification in this regard.

Pakistani celebrities have launched a new campaign “#GiveRoyaltiesToArtists” on social media, demanding royalties for their work they deserve.

The campaign was started after veteran actress Naila Jaffery demanded royalties of the re-runs of her dramas for her cancer treatment.

On Sunday evening, Pakistani celebrities turned to social media platforms; Instagram and Twitter, and posted a photo with the #giveroyaltiestoartists hashtag, highlighting ‘it is time to make this happen’.

Many actors including Mahira Khan, Yasir Hussain, Mansha Pasha, Sakina Samo, Zara Noor Abbas, Armeena Khan, Kübra Khan, Asad Siddiqui, and others raised their voices to demand royalties for the artists.

Zara Noor Abbas said, “In every industry, there are some rules. Some laws. Let’s have it set in ours too. Let’s acknowledge the ones who ENTERTAIN you on the COST of their lives. #giveroyaltiestoartists”.

Why Hina Altaf likes to keep her life a little private?

Recently, a social media user asked the Pagli actress why the couple doesn’t share many pictures on Instagram, to which Hina replied,

Hina Altaf got married to Agha Ali in May 2020. The celebrity couple tied the knot in a simple wedding ceremony during coronavirus lockdown. There were no rumors about their dating or anything related to their personal lives.

Just like every other celebrity shows off their marriage proposal, this couple decided to keep their private life away from public eyes. However, in a recent interview, actor Agha Ali told how he proposed the love of his life.

He said, “It wasn’t an actual proposal. You can call it a proposal. However, I didn’t go down on my knees. I asked her about her views on getting married and settling down in life.”

The Mehram actor went on to add, “After getting a positive reply from her (Hina Altaf), I then told my mother and she contacted Hina. I then asked Hina if she wants to spend the rest of her life with me.”

He went on to write,

The newly-appointed Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Tarin had met Prime Minister Imran Khan recently and discussed the economic situation of the country.

According to sources, the meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s House two days ago in which the country’s economic situation was discussed.

Expressing full confidence in Shaukat Tarinn’s abilities, PM Imran Khan said that he has known Shaukat Tareen for 35 years and he has also been a part of the Board of Governors of Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

“I am confident that Shaukat Tarin will come up with better planning for the further stability of the country’s economy”, said PM Khan.
