Russia’s attacks on Ukraine continue, leaving 8 civilians dead and 35 injured, according to local reports. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed it shot down 216 Ukrainian drones overnight, saying the drones were part of attempts to strike Russian territory. In a separate incident, Russia’s attacks damaged the Azerbaijani embassy in Kyiv.
Azerbaijan summoned the Russian ambassador and strongly protested the damage to its embassy. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said attacks on diplomatic missions are unacceptable and appear deliberate. They demanded a detailed explanation from Russia and called the incident a clear violation of international law.
Germany also strongly condemned the attacks, calling them a violation of human rights and international law. Germany’s Defense Minister said Russia’s strikes openly violate human rights and aim to create unbearable conditions in Ukraine ahead of winter.
In addition, Russian forces shot down 8 Ukrainian drones heading toward the Novovoronezh nuclear plant. Russian officials claimed the drones were sent to damage the plant.
