Pakistan ‘in talks’ to buy Chinese jet

Pakistan is reportedly in formal discussions with China’s Hongdu Aircraft Company to acquire light attack aircraft, as disclosed during the 2023 Dubai Airshow.

The aim is to replace Pakistan Air Force’s aging F-7PG fighters used for combat pilot training.

The potential purchase involves the L-15 trainer light attack aircraft, known for its nine hardpoints capable of carrying up to three tonnes of weapons, including ground assault capabilities with HJ-10 anti-tank guided missiles and LS series laser- and satellite-guided bombs.
