Two fifteen years old have been injured in a stabbing in Salford.

In the attack in Whittle Street around 23:30 GMT on Friday, the child and girl both sustained knife wounds that are not thought to be life-threatening.

A youngster, 15, has been detained on suspicion of inflicting injuries.

Following “a series of occurrences over the past several weeks,” Greater Manchester Police announced they were giving police more authority to stop and search people in the area.
