The port city is set to experience strong winds starting December 24, with gusts expected to reach speeds of 25 to 35 km/h, according to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz. These northeast winds will continue through December 25.

A noticeable dip in temperature is also forecast. Daytime highs will hover around 25°C, while nighttime temperatures could drop to a chilly 9°C to 11°C.

The cold wave gripping the country has already brought single-digit temperatures to the city this month. Beyond the metropolis, several areas in Balochistan are facing freezing conditions. Quetta recorded a temperature of -5°C, Kalat and Zhob -4°C, and Ziarat -7°C.

Meanwhile, Lahore and Mirpur Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) experienced their first winter rain on Monday, signaling the season’s shift. Light showers are expected to continue in Lahore over the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Adding to the wintry atmosphere, Murree has seen the season’s first snowfall, drawing visitors to the scenic hill station.
