Former MasterChef Australia winner Paul Douglas Frost has been sentenced to a minimum of 24 years in jail for perpetrating 43 sexual offences against 11 minors while working as a swim teacher in Sydney between 1996 and 2009.

Here are five interesting facts about Paul Douglas Frost:

Frost is estranged from his stepfather, Douglas Frost, who trained Olympic athlete Ian Thorpe.

Diagnosed Disorders: He has paedophilic disorder, major depressive disorder, and generalised anxiety disorder, as well as an increased risk of self-harm.

Offences at Swimming School: The majority of Frost’s offences took place at his swimming school in southwest Sydney, in places such as change rooms, kickboard rooms, the pool, and the deck.

Frost had challenges after reaching the finals of MasterChef Australia in 2009, including a failing culinary enterprise, bankruptcy in 2016, and divorce in 2021/2022.

Arrest and Job Loss: After being arrested in September 2019, Frost was fired from his jobs at the University of New South Wales and Malabar Public School, leading to his present incarceration.
