On social media, a video has gone viral showing a couple of lions having a difficult time hunting buffaloes because their prey was not having it when it came to their young ones.

Buffaloes are said to be one of the lions’ favourite foods. Because buffaloes are large animals with a lot of flesh, if lions can hunt one, they won’t have to hunt for another five days.

A video shared on Instagram shows a group of lionesses attempting to surround a buffalo calf. The calf’s mother, on the other hand, rushes to its aid and throws the hunting lionesses around with its horns.

In the video, lionesses appear hesitant to attack the furious buffalo, but they do so nonetheless since they outnumber the prey. The buffalo herd, on the other hand, had their backs and rushed to protect their comrade and his youngster. The lionesses had no choice but to flee when they saw the number of buffaloes approaching them. Over 15,000 people have liked the video.
