Xiaomi starts making its first electric car

In the previous month, Xiaomi officially entered the electric vehicle (EV) market by introducing its inaugural EV model, the SU7 sedan.

Recent insights into Xiaomi’s internal operations reveal the commencement of the production line verification process for the SU7 EV. Xiaomi aims to produce an initial batch of 300 electric vehicles following the initiation of production last week.

However, reports suggest that this initial batch is not designated for end consumers but rather intended for display in showrooms and specific Xiaomi stores across China.

Following challenges in the production line earlier, the ongoing production process primarily focuses on resolving any outstanding issues. Xiaomi has also addressed concerns by releasing a new software update to enhance the vehicle’s system functionality.

It is noteworthy that Xiaomi places a strong emphasis on manufacturing flawless vehicles, prioritizing quality over quantity. With the SU7 being its inaugural EV, the company is committed to ensuring a seamless launch before proceeding to introduce two more vehicles within the next three years.
