Max Holloway believes that fans may force a rematch between him and Conor McGregor, the Irish UFC superstar.

The majority of McGregor’s 2013 match with Holloway was fought on the ground, where the Irishman prevailed despite the fact that both men possessed the formidable striking ability.

It was McGregor’s second bout with the promotion, and Holloway’s sixth, making both fighters relatively inexperienced at the highest level.

When asked by an international sports news agency about a rematch with McGregor, Holloway stated: “That question – Do you think I’m the best option for him? I ask you. Let’s go have a poll. Go ask the fans. Because give them what the fans want. The people keep talking about it. That [first] fight was like I said, that fight was ‘Baby Max,’ ‘Baby Conor.’ We were just two babies in the UFC doing our thing.”

Since his championship victory against Jose Aldo, McGregor has not competed at 145 pounds. Instead, he elected to compete at 155 pounds and become the first UFC fighter to win two titles.

Holloway began advertising a rematch with McGregor last year, recommending that the two fight once McGregor is permitted to return to the cage.
