Pakistan’s cricket team has been eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2024, with the USA and India advancing from Group A to the Super 8 stage.

Pakistan’s slim chances depended on Ireland’s victory over the USA, but the match’s cancellation due to rain sealed Pakistan’s fate.

Ex-cricketers, particularly from Pakistan, have voiced their opinions on the team’s disappointing World Cup run, including Ahmed Shehzad.

Shehzad criticized Pakistan’s singular win against Canada and losses to the USA and India on his X account (formerly Twitter), calling for PCB chairman’s intervention.

“The deserving team is through to the Super 8 round. If you’re depending on Ireland to defeat someone, you seriously don’t deserve to qualify. Don’t think even ‘Kudrat Ka Nizam’ works for those who are not deserving or ready to improve. All eyes on PCB chairman now!,” Shehzad expressed.

Pakistan is set to face Ireland in their final World Cup match in Florida, where they previously lost to Ireland in a T20I series. However, the match may be canceled due to flood warnings in Florida.

Following this, the Pakistani team will return home.
