Rafael Nadal is set to make his much-awaited return to the tennis court after a 12-month absence. The 22-time Grand Slam winner announced his comeback in a video posted on his social media accounts on December 1. Nadal will return to action at the Brisbane International in January.

Nadal’s uncle and former coach, Toni Nadal, expressed his enthusiasm for his nephew’s return, saying that he has great faith in him and believes he won’t disappoint.

Nadal last featured at the 2022 Australian Open, where he sustained a hip injury that kept him out for the remainder of the year. He fell out of the top 10 rankings for the first time in his career and is currently ranked World No. 663.

Despite his ranking and age, Nadal said he is not returning with hopes of winning any major titles. He said he is simply looking to be competitive again and enjoy playing the game.

Nadal also said that he still plans to retire in 2024, but he cannot confirm it 100% because he does not know for sure.

Nadal’s return will be a welcome sight for tennis fans around the world. He is one of the greatest players of all time, and his comeback could shake up the men’s tennis world.
