Tuesday saw the sentencing of two men for the November 2021 home invasion robbery of British cyclist Mark Cavendish by two guys brandishing knives.

Romario Henry, 31, of south-east London, was found guilty of the crime last month despite his denials and was given a 15-year prison sentence.

Ali Sesay, a 28-year-old Kent resident who had already entered a guilty plea, will serve a 12-year term.

The Olympic silver medalist testified in court that the robbers used a “Rambo-style” knife to intimidate him and his family while taking two pricey watches worth 700,000 pounds ($842,870).

At the time, Cavendish was recuperating from a bicycle accident in Belgium that had left him with a collapsed lung and damaged ribs. Cavendish has won a record-equaling 34 individual stages on the Tour de France.

Last month, the 37-year-old signed with World Tour squad Astana-Qazaqstan for the 2023 campaign, putting a stop to rumors regarding his future.
