Brock Lesnar is expected to face Gunther at WrestleMania 39, but it doesn’t appear to be the current plan. The organisation made some suggestions during Royal Rumble, but Brock Lesnar and Gunther’s altercation won’t go any further.

At position twelve in the Men’s Royal Rumble match, Brock Lesnar immediately started fighting Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. He defeated Santos Escobar after using many suplexes to overwhelm his opponents.

After a brief altercation with Gunther, Bobby Lashley entered the ring and eventually defeated Brock Lesnar. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that Lesnar’s current matchup at WrestleMania 39 will be against Bobby Lashley rather than Gunther.

“It’s possible they’ll do Lesnar vs. Lashley at Elimination Chamber and Lesnar vs. GUNTHER at WrestleMania. I can and will look at it again, but I was pretty much told no Lesnar and Gunther. I haven’t been told no Lesnar and Lashley, but that’s the one they’re pushing aggressively. Yes, he could perform one for each show, but it seemed like the Lashley one was the one they were working on. The Gunther one felt like a tease, something for someday we’ll have this in our pocket, whereas the Lashley one felt like “this is a WrestleMania.”
