According to a statement released by Juventus on Tuesday, Argentine winger Angel Di Maria suffered a thigh injury while making his debut with the Italian club. The injury could force Di Maria to miss some time on the sidelines.

Following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, Di Maria made his debut with his new club, Sassuolo, on Monday and scored the first goal in a 3-0 victory over the Italian side.

The 34-year-old player was also responsible for setting up the second of Dusan Vlahovic’s two goals, but he was taken out of the game in the middle of the second half.

Scans conducted by Juventus revealed that Angel Di Maria had sustained a “low-grade lesion” to his left thigh. The club further stated that the ailment would be reassessed in ten days.

At the very least, he won’t be able to play in the upcoming league matches against Sampdoria and Roma.

Paul Pogba was already out for Juventus when he suffered a knee injury on a preseason trip to the United States shortly after re-joining the Turin club following a six-year stint with Manchester United.

The France midfielder is currently participating in “conservative therapy” and is expected to make a comeback around the middle of September.
