Cameron Green and Mitchell Marsh will play their debut ODIs. However ,Steven Smith will miss out due to a quad injury. Mitchell Starc will have to wait a little longer.

With Pat Cummins rest, Jhye Richardson has been recalled, and Australia has adjusted the balance of their assault with only one frontline spinner, Matt Kuhuemann. Green will bat at No. 8 in an all-rounder-heavy lineup.

However, Sri Lanka has made  change with Niroshan Dickwella replacing the injured Danushka Gunathilaka  at the top of the order.  He is also expected to keep wicket.

Marsh is the first of Australia’s injured players to return to action following a calf strain suffered during the T20I series. They’ll be hoping to avoid another injury after Sean Abbott (broken finger), Mitchell Starc (cut finger), Marsh (calf), Kane Richardson (hamstring), Marcus Stoinis (side), Ashton Agar (side), and Smith have all suffered injuries so far on tour (quad).

Australia will bat first for the first time in the series. So far, rain has halted both games, and DLS might enter the picture again.
