National Hockey to depart for Jakarta to take part in Asia Cup

The national hockey team will fly to Jakarta, Indonesia tonight to take part in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022.

Pakistan will play its first match against India on May 23 at 08:30 pm PST.

A 20-player squad was announced on May 16 by the selection committee after the trials of the players with the approval of PHF President Khalid Sajjad Khokhar.

Umar Bhatta will lead the national side with the vice-captain, Ali Shan.

The national team will play its practice match against South Korea on May 20.

Pakistani team manager Khawaja Junaid said that Oman has requested to play a practice match with Pakistan on May 21.

He further added that the team has practiced hard to prepare for the tournament. The team is looking forward to producing better results.

The tournament will officially begin on May 23.
