Three students, who were arrested for celebrating Pakistan’s 10-wicket victory over India in the ICC T20 World Cup, were granted bail by an Indian court.

The students arrested were from the northern state of Uttar Pradesh in October last year. However, their lawyer revealed the latest development in the case.

The three students named Arsheed Yusuf, Inayat Altaf Sheikh and Showkat Ahmed Ganai were from engineering college. They were arrested for posting and chanting anti-India content, according to the local media.

The three students belong to Indian Occupied Kashmir.

The arrest warrant came after Uttar Pradesh’s chief minister, Yogi Adityanath, declared that anyone caught celebrating Pakistan’s triumph would be detained and punished with sedition.
