The actress had the opportunity to meet Bhansali for his highly anticipated project “Heeramandi”, which was initially being developed as a film. The role would have been a dream come true for many, but political tensions ultimately led to the casting falling through.

Reflecting on the experience, Mahira recalled her excitement and the potential meeting with Bhansali, known for his visually striking films like “Devdas” and “Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela”. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the film never materialized as initially planned, and Mahira’s role did not come to fruition.

While “Heeramandi” later evolved into a web series, Mahira’s near involvement with the project serves as a glimpse into what could have been.
