CM Naqvi takes initiatives to make Punjab dust-free

Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the initiative to transform Lahore into a dust-free city has been officially launched.

Mechanical washing and sweeping operations have commenced during the night shift as part of a phased plan to eliminate dust from 79 roads in Lahore.

Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Randhawa, accompanied by CEO Babar Sahib Din, inspected Ferozepur Road and Shahdara to assess the progress of the washing activities.

A comprehensive night-long washing operation, overseen by CEO Babar Sahib Din, focused on cleaning Ferozepur Road from MAO College to Shanghai Bridge.

In adherence to Chief Minister Punjab’s instructions, a special washing initiative covered the stretch from Ravi Bridge to Shahdara Mor during the night shift.

The washing process involves 18 mechanical washers, 12 mechanical sweepers, and 40 tractor sweepers. Simultaneously, mechanical sweeping operations are ongoing citywide.

Key areas, including Pine Avenue, Abdul Sattar Edhi Road, Thokar Chowk, Egerton Road, Lytton Road, Canal Road, Mall Road, Idyarim Pakistan Road, Wahdat Road, Zahoor Elahi Road, Khayaban Jinnah, Khayaban Ferdowsi, Main Boulevard Johar Town, Sumanabad Underpass, and Raiwand Road, have undergone mechanical sweeping and washing.

The night-shift mechanical washing and sweeping of important highways will continue daily to fulfill the commitment of providing a clean environment to the residents of Lahore, stated CEO Babar Sahib Din, emphasizing the utilization of all available resources for this purpose.
