Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Malaysia on Sunday for an official visit. At Kuala Lumpur’s Bunga Raya International Airport, he was welcomed by Malaysian Minister of Information and Communications Fahmi Fadzil, Pakistan’s High Commissioner Syed Ahsan Raza Shah, and members of the diplomatic staff. He was then taken to his residence with royal protocol.

At his residence, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim personally received Shehbaz Sharif with a warm welcome. Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said he was very happy to be in Malaysia and thanked the Malaysian leadership for their hospitality. He added that this visit would help strengthen ties between Pakistan and Malaysia.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. His visit is taking place on the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

During the trip, Shehbaz Sharif will hold a meeting with his Malaysian counterpart, and both sides will also engage in delegation-level talks. Agreements and memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed to boost cooperation in several areas.

The two leaders will explore ways to expand collaboration in trade, information technology, telecommunications, halal industry, investment, education, energy, infrastructure, and the digital economy. They will also discuss opportunities to promote people-to-people contacts.

This visit is seen as highly significant for further strengthening relations between Pakistan and Malaysia.
