MDCAT 2024 was marked by incidents of mismanagement and allegations of a leaked exam paper, leading young doctors to consider legal action following protests from medical aspirants.

Aspiring doctors in Karachi and other parts of Sindh faced significant difficulties, including long wait times, and reports of paper leaks surfaced, drawing criticism from student organizations.

These concerns prompted the Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh to plan legal action and initiate a protest movement. In response to claims that the exam paper was leaked on social media before the test, YDA JPMC announced its intention to approach the High Court.

Student groups claimed that over half of the exam questions circulating online were part of the leaked paper.

Officials sent a formal request to Dow University of Health Sciences, the Chief Secretary of Sindh, and the Sindh Chief Minister, urging the formation of an investigative committee to probe the matter.

However, on Sunday, Dow University officials denied reports of a paper leak, asserting that the circulated paper was merely a guess paper and that the official exam paper remained secure.

With this latest controversy, the future of the MDCAT exam remains uncertain, and further developments are awaited.
