PHC suspends election commission notice against CM KP
The Peshawar High Court (PHC) suspended the Election Commission’s notice regarding assets against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur.
A 2-member bench of the Peshawar High Court heard the case, during which the lawyer of Ali Amin Gandapur argued that there is a time to object to the nomination papers, Ali Amin can no longer be objected to, and the Election Commission has no authority to take action against Ali Amin.
During the hearing, the court remarked that according to the Supreme Court decision, no institution has the authority to issue Sadiq Amin’s certificates.
Later, the court suspended the Election Commission’s notice against Ali Amin and suspended the disqualification proceedings.
Peshawar High Court issued notice to the parties and sought their response.
Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur had challenged the action of the Election Commission against him in Peshawar High Court.
