Former PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry was arrested by plain clothes personnel from his residence in Islamabad on Saturday.

The arrest of Fawad was confirmed by his wife Hiba Chaudhry and brother Faisal Chaudhry.

Hiba Chaudhry took twitter by stating that her husband had been arrested and taken to an unidentified location.

While Faisal Chaudhry reported that Fawad had been “abducted” from his house while having breakfast by some “uniformed and plain clothes personnel”, claiming that no arrest warrant or order was shown to fawad before detention.

On May 24 this year, Fawad Chaudhry had parted ways with the PTI soon after a countrywide crackdown on the party was launched in response to the violence that broke out on May 9 against PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest.
