Police arrest two terrorists in Karachi
KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Police conducted a joint operation and arrested a man involved in committing robberies while impersonating a policeman.
The law enforcement agencies received a tip-off and conducted a raid in Orangi Town where suspect Abdul Kareem was arrested.
He is allegedly involved in receiving extortion and committing robberies dressed in a fake police uniform and claiming to be a police officer. A police uniform along with arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession.
Police said the accused used to impersonate a police officer, and along with his accomplice, Sadiq alias Langra, was involved in committing several armed robberies in different areas of Karachi.
During initial interrogation, he confessed to stealing more than 100 mobile phones and lakhs of rupees in cash. The accused used to take extortion by misusing his police uniform, police said.
Police said that raids are being conducted to arrest other accomplices. He has been handed over to the police for legal action.
