Renowned actress Salma Hassan has opened up about a deeply personal chapter of her life, revealing the emotional struggles she and her daughter faced following her separation.

In a recent morning show interview, Salma shared that the differences between her and ex-husband Azfar Ali had a profound impact on their daughter Fatima’s emotional health.

She disclosed that Fatima was only eight months old when she began exhibiting unusual behaviour.
According to Salma, “She would suddenly lie on the floor and stiffen her body so much that I couldn’t lift her. At times, she would even hold her breath.”

Salma consulted multiple psychologists, but one therapist pointed out that the issue wasn’t with the child it was with the mother’s emotional state.
“At first, I didn’t believe it,” she admitted. “But eventually, I realized Fatima was silently absorbing everything I was going through.”

It is notable that Salma has raised Fatima as a single mother. Her first marriage to actor and producer Azfar Ali ended after his involvement and later marriage with actress Naveen Waqar.

Salma Hassan rose to fame with the popular sitcom “Sab Set Hai” and has since starred in numerous acclaimed dramas, including Khani, Badddua, Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha, Pyar Ke Sadqay, Fairy Tale, Ishq Murshid, Jaan-e-Jahan, and Bharam.
