Pakistan’s renowned alpine skier Mohammad Karim has secured a spot in the 2026 Winter Olympics after an impressive performance at the FIS International Ski Races held in Dubai.

Hailing from Naltar, Gilgit-Baltistan, the 28-year-old athlete has now made history by qualifying for the Winter Olympics for the fourth consecutive time, becoming the only skier in the world to achieve this remarkable feat.

Mohammad Karim has previously represented Pakistan in the Sochi, Pyeongchang, and Beijing Winter Olympics. Although he has yet to secure a medal, his consistent presence on the global stage is seen as a significant milestone for winter sports in Pakistan.

However, Karim’s success also brings to light the underperformance of the Pakistan Ski Federation, which, despite receiving substantial annual funding, has struggled to nurture new talent, particularly female skiers.

This raises serious questions about the Federation’s ability to foster and develop future stars in the sport.
