Zurich: FIFA has officially unveiled the TRIONDA, the official match ball for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The ball blends innovation, national symbolism, and next-generation tracking technology.

Developed by Adidas, TRIONDA’s name is inspired by two Spanish words: “Tri” meaning three, and “Onda” meaning wave. The name represents the collaboration between the three host countries, as well as the ball’s fluid design, which incorporates the tournament’s theme of unity.

The ball features a bold color scheme red, blue, and green signifying the national colors of the host countries. Each nation is also represented through an iconic symbol embedded in the design:

A maple leaf for Canada,  An eagle for Mexico, A star for the United States

These visual elements are interwoven into a seamless pattern that reflects the spirit of cross-border partnership and shared celebration.

TRIONDA is the first World Cup ball to feature Connected Ball Technology, enabling real-time movement tracking with a 500Hz motion sensor embedded inside.

The data will assist match officials and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system in delivering faster and more accurate decisions during critical moments including offside rulings, handball detections, and goal confirmations.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will run from June 11 to July 19, hosted across 16 cities in Canada, the USA, and Mexico. With an expanded format of 48 teams, the tournament will be the largest in FIFA history, expected to draw unprecedented global attention.
