ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday suspended the order restraining Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri of the Islamabad High Court from performing his judicial duties.

The apex court issued the directive while hearing an appeal challenging the Islamabad High Court’s two-member bench order that had barred Justice Jahangiri from work.

During the proceedings, the Supreme Court issued notices to all parties concerned as well as the Attorney General’s Office and adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.

It may be recalled that a division bench comprising Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Azam Khan, had issued an order to stop Justice Tariq Mehmood Jehangiri as a judge.
