Google maps experienced a significant outage that impacted mobile users worldwide, with thousands of reports indicating the app failed to load maps or provide navigation on both Android and iOS platforms.

According to Downdetector, more than 4,000 users reported issues shortly after the outage began. Affected users saw error messages stating that Google Maps could not reach its server. Despite the widespread disruption on mobile devices, the web version of the service continued to function normally.

The outage, which peaked at 3:34 PM ET, stemmed from problems within Google’s Maps SDK and Navigation SDK. While Google has confirmed the issue has now been resolved, the company is still conducting an internal investigation and plans to release a detailed analysis upon completion.
