Rain showers continue across Pakistan; Karachi may drizzle

Karachi: Light rain and drizzle were reported in various areas of Karachi overnight. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain or drizzle is also expected in coastal areas of Sindh under partly cloudy skies.

The low-level floods are still in flow at Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu, and Sukkur barrages on the Indus River.

In Rawalpindi and Islamabad, rainfall brought pleasant weather. The Met Office has forecast heavy rain at isolated places in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan from today through August 7.

In Azad Kashmir, widespread heavy rain has been reported. In Mirpur, areas including Dadyal, Chakswari, Islamgarh, and Khari Sharif witnessed intense downpours. Rainfall also continued in Jatlan, Kakra Town, Mangla, and other nearby locations.

Due to the heavy rain in Mirpur, low-lying areas have been inundated. Authorities have issued a flood alert for local streams and rivers.
