Islamabad: The first-ever National Youth Games, scheduled to be held in Islamabad, have been postponed due to the severe flood situation and adverse weather conditions gripping the country. The decision was made to ensure the safety of all athletes and officials involved.

Sources indicate that Sindh was set to send a 365-member contingent of athletes to compete in 16 different sports, including athletics, badminton, boxing, hockey, swimming, and kabaddi.

The postponement of the “Prime Minister Youth Games” reflects the seriousness of the ongoing weather-related crisis and the government’s focus on relief and rehabilitation efforts across the nation.

The games, originally slated to take place from September 7 to 13, are now being delayed for approximately one month. A review meeting is expected to be held next month to finalize and announce the new dates for the event.
