Rawalpindi: Health authorities in Rawalpindi and Murree have reported a concerning increase in dengue fever cases. According to a recent health department report, 17 new cases were confirmed in Rawalpindi over the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in Rawalpindi has now reached 99, while Murree has reported 77 cases.

The number of patients under treatment in hospitals is also significant, with 63 individuals from Rawalpindi and 31 from Murree currently receiving care.

In response to the growing threat, the administration has intensified its anti-dengue campaign. A total of 1,176,758 locations were inspected in Rawalpindi, leading to the discovery of dengue larvae at 106,062 sites.

Authorities have also taken strict action against those violating standard operating procedures (SOPs). So far, 3,127 cases have been filed, 1,458 premises have been sealed, and fines totaling PKR 7.511 million have been imposed.
