SINGAPORE: Pakistan’s Aryan Deen has set a new national record in the men’s 50-meter freestyle event at the ongoing World Aquatics Championship in Singapore.
Aryan clocked a time of 23.87 seconds, placing 68th out of 116 swimmers in the heats.
Only the top 16 swimmers from the heats advanced to the semi-finals. Despite not qualifying, Aryan’s performance marks a significant milestone for Pakistan in international swimming.
This new record surpasses the previous one of 24.42 seconds, which was held by Aryan Rahman Khawer. The top 16 swimmers from the event qualified for the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, in the women’s 50-meter butterfly event at the same championship, Pakistan’s Hareem Malik recorded a time of 33.20 seconds, placing her 76th out of 80 swimmers in her category.
