ISLAMABAD: Two officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have been arrested for their alleged involvement in illegally issuing E-visas to Afghan nationals.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the arrested personnel were found facilitating Afghan citizens through unlawful means by processing and granting e-visas without proper authorization or verification.

The arrested officers were posted at the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Islamabad. They are accused of bypassing legal protocols to unlawfully grant e-visas to Afghan citizens.

According to the FIA spokesman, six suspects have been arrested so far for issuing illegal e -visas to Afghan nationals.

The spokesperson stated that strict action is being taken against those involved in compromising national security and immigration protocols. Further investigation is underway to identify any other officials or external agents linked to the malpractice.
