Valencia: Pakistan’s rising squash star Hamza Khan has qualified for the quarter-finals of the $15,000 Valencia Open Squash tournament currently underway in Spain.

Hamza Khan is in formidable form, securing his spot in the last eight by winning both his initial round matches in under half an hour each.

On Wednesday, in his second-round match, Hamza decisively defeated Egypt’s third seed, Yassin Elshafei, with a commanding 3-0 victory. He clinched the match in just 29 minutes, with scores of 11-9, 11-3, and 11-8.

Earlier, in the first round, Hamza had overcome Spain’s Hugo Lafuente in just 27 minutes. He won that match against the home player with scores of 11-9, 11-6, and 11-5.

The Valencia Open Squash tournament boasts a prize purse of $15,000.
