Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, a prominent owner of T20 cricket franchises globally, has once again made waves in the cricketing world. His Caribbean Premier League (CPL) team, Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR), recently signed two Pakistani cricketers in the 2025 draft. This exciting news has delighted Pakistani fans eager to see their favorite players back in action on an international stage.

The two Pakistani players joining Trinbago Knight Riders are Mohammad Amir and Usman Tariq. Mohammad Amir, a right-arm fast bowler, is renowned for his swing and pace, boasting an impressive T20 record, especially in the CPL. He has taken 51 wickets in 39 CPL matches across four seasons, at an average of 18.09, which makes his inclusion a significant boost for TKR’s bowling attack.

Off-spinner Usman Tariq is set to make his CPL debut with Trinbago Knight Riders this year. He recently showcased his talent for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, securing 10 wickets in just 5 matches. His spin bowling is expected to be a crucial asset for the team during the middle overs of the games.

It’s noteworthy that while these talented Pakistani players will shine in international leagues like the CPL, they, including Mohammad Amir, remain banned from the Indian Premier League (IPL). This ban has been in place for several years due to political tensions between Pakistan and India. Shah Rukh Khan’s cricket empire extends beyond TKR to include the successful IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders and the Major League Cricket team Los Angeles Knight Riders in the USA.

Trinbago Knight Riders have a stellar CPL track record, with Shah Rukh Khan’s ownership leading them to four titles (2015, 2017, 2018, 2020). With these new signings, TKR is once again expected to be a strong contender in the upcoming league. The CPL itself is an annual T20 tournament in the West Indies, celebrated for blending cricket with vibrant Caribbean culture, music, and excitement
