The ASEAN Internet Celebrity Conference kicked off in China, attracting a large gathering of TikTok influencers and other social media personalities.

The event is taking place in Hainan Province and is themed “Family of the Maritime Silk Road.” The conference will also feature the launch of a TikTok short video contest.

Scholars in Hainan participated and expressed their support for the initiative, praising the vision behind it.

PhD Scholar Hasan Junaid Arshad said that “It is a fresh idea, as people will engage and connect them culturally. It will serve as a great platform for the social media celebrities.”
