Karachi to experience drop in temperatures over next three days

KARACHI – More rains and gusty winds are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Monday night and Tuesday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), light to moderate monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper/central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave will likely affect upper parts of the country from July 11.

Under these weather conditions, more rains and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Jacobabad, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Qamber Shahdadkot, Larkana, Dadu, Padidan, Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Badin, Sajawal, Thatta and Karachi on Monday night and Tuesday. Isolated heavy falls may cause flooding in low lying areas. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the province.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35-37°C on Tuesday and 34-36°C on Wednesday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40°C on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in Karachi and southeast Sindh during the last 24 hours.

Jacobabad remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Maximum temperature in Rohri, Mithi and Mohenjo-Daro was recorded at 42°C.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 72 per cent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 68 per cent.
