CTD arrests five terrorists in Punjab IBO

LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab arrested five terrorists during an intelligence-based operation. The terrorists were planning to attack various institutions.

70 operations were conducted in various cities of Punjab in view of terrorism concerns, CTD said that 5 terrorists were arrested during the intelligence based operation.

CTD spokesman said that the operation was conducted in Mianwali, Hafizabad, Okara and Jhelum. The CTD recovered explosives, 2 IED bombs, 10 detonators, arms and cash were recovered from the terrorists.

The spokesperson said that the terrorists were identified as Sharafat, Yaseen, Talha, Abdul Rehman and Usaid. The terrorists were planning to attack various institutions.

CTD officials further said that during 546 combing operations this week, 56 suspects were arrested, 21,337 people were questioned in combing operations.

Earlier, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested four drug peddlers in six operations and recovered 31 kg drugs from their possession.

ANF spokesman said informed that 51 heroin-filled capsules were recovered from a Sharjah-bound passenger arrested at Peshawar Airport.
