Sarwat Gilani says she will no longer play ‘stereotypical’ roles

In a recent interview, Sarwat, who portrays Nucchi in Joyland, discussed her transition to independent projects from mainstream television dramas.

She further said that prime-time serials, which are viewed by the majority of women, do not give sufficient attention to a number of crucial issues. Sarwat added that she cannot return to her previous role as the oppressed heroin because she does not believe in that.
