Boris Johnson and his government have spent much of this week battling the EU and arguing with a European human rights court.

Johnson’s foreign secretary, Liz Truss, announced the long-awaited Northern Ireland Protocol Bill on Monday.

Two days later, the EU retaliated by filing legal action against the UK for failing to implement parts of the protocol to date.

Officials from the UK government reacted angrily, saying that the law if approved, would be fully legal. Suella Braverman, the attorney general who approved the new measure, appeared on television to defend the proposal.

The Johnson administration cursed the name of another European institution, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), on Tuesday.

The UK announced a pact that would allow asylum seekers in the nation to move and granted refuge in Rwanda.

Johnson never knows if his red meat risk paid off with the people until the next general election.

However, there will be those who believe that instead of choosing conflicts with the EU and the ECHR, Johnson should focus on measures to improve people’s lives.
