Bryson DeChambeau, the American Golfer, has had successful wrist surgery after fracturing it earlier this year and being unable to “play at golf’s best level.”

When the big-hitting American, 28, stumbled on a marble floor while playing table tennis in February, he fractured a bone in his hand and hurt his hip.

DeChambeau missed the cut at both the Texas Open and the Masters last week after being away for six weeks.

“Physically and mentally, this has not been easy for me,” he remarked.

DeChambeau said he intends to be back competing “at the highest level” within the next two months, but the PGA Championship in May is likely to be his last.

The 2020 US Open winner was ranked fifth in the world in 2021, but has subsequently dropped to 19th.

“I attempted to play with this injury at three recent competitions, including the Masters,” he wrote on Instagram. “However, this is normally an issue that requires surgical treatment.”

“Continued agony from the fracture has prompted me to change my grip and swing, preventing me from competing at the highest level of golf.”
