Best pals Julia Roberts and George Clooney pooled their star power for the Oct. 21 release of Ticket to Paradise after taking long pauses from their separate romantic films. The Ocean’s 11 co-stars in the new film portray a divorced couple who reluctantly reunite for an adventure in Bali to prevent their lovestruck daughter from getting married to someone she just met.

Roberts, one of Hollywood’s rom-com queens thanks to classic films like Pretty Woman, Notting Hill, and My Best Friend’s Wedding, finally returns to the genre in Two Tickets to Paradise. But the 54-year-old recently made it clear that she had no plans to stop making feel-good movies for more than 22 years.

“People sometimes misconstrue the amount of time that’s gone by that I haven’t done a romantic comedy as my not wanting to do one,” Roberts explained to Vanity Fair in April. “If I had read something that I thought was that Notting Hill level of writing or My Best Friend’s wedding level of madcap fun, I would do it. They didn’t exist until this movie that I just did that Ol Parker wrote and directed.”

The Academy Award winner stated, “I think the movie will “only [work] if George Clooney is involved. George unexpectedly believed that it only worked with me. We both manage to accomplish it somehow, and we set off.”

How does Ticket to Paradise finally compare to Roberts’ catalog of romantic comedies? When it comes to our list of her finest and worst excursions, get ready to feel massive emotions.

In this 1994 flop directed by Nancy Meyers, Roberts and Nick Nolte had more chemistry than we did with the frog we had to dissect in science class. And it makes sense considering how poorly the co-stars got along.
