Sangeeta Bijlani recently opened up about her past relationship with Salman Khan, particularly the cancelled wedding, in an appearance on Indian Idol 15.

In a newly released promo from the show, contestant Manasi Ghosh asked Sangeeta about the rumors of their wedding cards being printed before the ceremony was called off. To this, Sangeeta responded, “Jhoot toh nahi tha (It wasn’t a lie),” leaving everyone, including judges Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Dadlani, shocked. Vishal urged her to share more, but Sangeeta refrained from providing further details.

Salman and Sangeeta’s relationship was one of Bollywood’s most talked-about, with the couple dating for nearly a decade after meeting on a TV commercial set. Despite their long relationship, the two never tied the knot, and eventually, they went their separate ways. Sangeeta later married cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin in 1996, but they divorced in 2019.

Sangeeta has always maintained a cordial relationship with Salman and continues to attend his events. In a past interview, she commented on her enduring bond with him, saying, “Connections don’t break” and adding, “The love between your partners, school friends never go away… Life is full of experiences.”
