On Friday, a semi-naked protester dressed in blue and yellow was ejected from the Cannes red carpet, drawing attention to the Ukraine crisis.

The unidentified woman ripped off her gown, revealing the Ukrainian flag colours and the words “STOP RAPING US” emblazoned on her abdomen, as well as red handprints on her buttocks.

The woman yelled, and security personnel quickly wrapped her in a jacket and removed her from the event. Guests looked perplexed as the swinging festival music continued to play.

The brief protest occurred during the world premiere of “Three Thousand Years of Longing,” with stars Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton preparing to arrive and walk the famous steps of the Palais des Festivals. Reuters
