Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Amir Khan has tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Friday.

According to the details, Amir Khan quarantined himself at his residence after being diagnosed with the COVID-19.

He has appealed masses and the party workers to pray for his recovery.

The second wave of the COVID-19 has claimed several lives of people belonging to various walks of life including, journalists, politicians, and judges, and others.

It may be recalled that on November 30, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader and former provincial minister Sindh Muhammad Adil Siddiqui died due to complications caused by the novel coronavirus.

He tested positive for the virus on November 22 and was put on a ventilator for over a week at a private hospital in Karachi. According to the doctors, the leader suffered from lung failure.

Coronavirus in Pakistan

The novel coronavirus has claimed 85 lives in the past 24 hours bringing the national death tally to 9,753.

According to the national COVID-19 portal, 2,152 infections were reported in a single day and 1,824 recoveries during this period.

The national caseload now stands at 467,222 with 418,958 recoveries. The active cases toll is 38, 511.
