Faysal Quraishi defends Hania Aamir amid backlash over Indian project
Veteran Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi has weighed in on the growing political divide between Pakistan and India and its adverse impact on the entertainment industry. Speaking out in defense of actress Hania Aamir, Quraishi expressed disappointment over the criticism she faced for collaborating on a cross-border project with India.
The project, which reportedly featured top Indian talent, was allegedly shut down following public backlash and rising political tensions. Quraishi condemned the politicization of art, stressing that artists should be allowed to work freely, regardless of national boundaries.
“It’s unfortunate to see talent being stifled by politics,” he said, adding that Hania Aamir did not deserve the trolling she endured. He emphasized that such collaborations could pave the way for better understanding between the two nations.
